Sentimental feelings from a photo? Yup. I'm all about capturing the here and now with the colors and mood from the past. I aim to create imagery that tells a timeless story, that will be relevant and beautiful for years to come.

Authentic, raw, real moments of human connection to nature, to each other and to others living life in their own unique way. Emotional, playful, and everything in between.

I see things in my own special way and love to create art from ordinary life. I love to use little tricks to manipulate light & break the rules to make that extra bit of magic in my imagery.

FAQ

01.

How long do we have to wait to get our full gallery of images?

All images are delivered within 2-3 weeks of your session! (I will show you sneaks within 3 days.) Keepsake films take 3-4 weeks.

Where are you located? Do you travel for sessions?

02.

Hell yes! I'm located in Vancouver, WA, right across the bridge from Portland, OR. I travel all over the Pacific Northwest to find unique & beautiful locations for clients from the Oregon Coast & Mt. Hood Territory, through the majestic Columbia River Gorge and Seattle, WA, to Whidbey Island, WA. I also service the Upstate New York area one month every summer. I am an avid traveler, and clients have taken me to Costa Rica, Florida, California, and Utah. I LOVE to travel and find new locations - where would you like to go?

Do I get to keep all of the images? Will you up sell me?

03.

All of my Family Stories and Lifestyle Portraits are all inclusive. Your package includes all of the best images, usually 80+ digitals, hand edited by yours truly. For Fine-Art individual portrait packages, you can choose your amount of images by price, starting with 30 digitals of your choice with the option to purchase more. No hidden fees or sales pitches ever.

04.

What if I'm totally awkward and uncomfortable in front of the camera?

Don't worry, I've got you. (Pretty much every person feels like this!) I'll give you lots of direction and demonstrations so you won't be standing around feeling weird, wondering what to do with your hands. I've got a knack for putting people at ease and taking your mind off the camera. You'll be laughing, moving, and acting like yourself in no time.

What if my kids aren't behaving? Sunset is too late for my kids, and they are grouchy past bedtime.

05.

I'm a mom to 2 small kids, so I understand this in my core. Behavior rarely arises during sessions, but if it does, it's totally fine - that's life with kids! You just love them up, & I'll distract them. I'm basically a kid whisperer (for kids that aren't my own! ha!). I have yet to have a grumpy kid at a sunset session - for real. This is a new, fun, and special experience for kids. They revel in staying up late and having all the attention. The golden light is always worth a later bedtime. (Sleepy kiddos also make for some super sweet, natural moments that most parents want.)

How far in advance should I book?

06.

If you have a specific timeframe in mind, book at least 6 months - 1 year in advance. Expectant mamas should book sessions when you are 32-36 weeks along. Newborns should be booked for 7-10 days after delivery date. Summer + fall sessions are usually in high demand. If you'd like a weekend date of your choosing, book 3-4 months in advance. I do often have a more flexible weekday schedule, so please reach out and see what I have available! You can see my schedule online HERE.

What if it rains or there's inclement weather?

07.

As a Pacific Northwest photographer, I've shot in my fair share of wet, dreary weather. My equipment is weather sealed, and my raincoat is ready if you are! If my schedule allows, I'll leave this up to you. We can reschedule, OR we can go for it and take our chances. I've had families jump in the lake in a full downpour and couples take cover in a beach cave - stormy skies often reveal incredible light and FUN, with sometimes no rain at all. It's all about what you'd like to make of it.

I'm down for whatever!

What equiptment do you use?

08.

I shoot on a Sony Alpha a7r IV with a 35 mm Sigma Art Lens or 24 mm Zeiss Lens for most sessions. I keep things simple so I can be mobile and focus on what's happening, as it happens. While I love my gear, it works for me. My eyes and intuition are always my greatest assets. I also love to use a variety of antique prisms and tools to create unique imagery.

How are my images delivered? Do I have printing rights?

09.

All images are delivered in a private online gallery where you can instantly download web and high-resolution digital files. Your gallery allows you to easily share your photos online with all of your people and provides access to my professional print shop which has a variety of high-quality print items to get your images off your computer and onto your walls. All packages come with a personal print release so you can print your photos where and how you please.
